About Us

Scott was born and raised in Southern California, starting out his horsemanship at an early age riding dressage with his Auntie. His love of horses has kept him in the industry and found him a job at Disneyland where he first met Brent Deines and also learned to drive draft horses. From there, he went on to learn his leatherworking trade from one of the best saddle makers in the country. A four-year apprenticeship studying in the United States' top custom English saddle company taught the nuances of custom leather work. Following the apprenticeship, Scott went back to working with draft horses at Disneyland where he was moved to the harness shop to make custom leather goods for their draft horse program. Working with harness goods has created a new passion and the beginning of S.W. Foy Harness.

Brent is a native Californian who grew up in the picturesque sand hills of western Nebraska. He left the life of a ranch-hand and returned to California in the early 80’s. Spending twenty-six years at Disneyland (twenty of them in the livestock department) it was there that he was trained by a prominent, incredibly talented Canadian harness maker. “It was an opportunity of a life time,” says Brent. “I’m creative by nature so this was an chance to combine my love of the horse world with a need for a creative outlet.” Brent was the harness maker for Disneyland for more than 10 years before moving into management. He currently resides in Orange, California and is very excited to have joined forces with Scott Foy at their newly established harness shop in Norco, California on a full-time basis.
